The Learning Center: Yaks
In the high elevations of Nepal and Tibet, the yak is used to carry loads from village to village. They also provide milk to the mountain people and a variety of other products. It's going to be interesting to see how the yaks react to our camels passing them on the trails. It's known that horses spook when first meeting camels, while camels are pretty mellow. The yak/camel interaction is something we are going to want to check out before we try to get by one another on a narrow mountain trail with a steep drop off on one side. |
